TURBO EXPO 2018: SLM Solutions Presents Additive Manufacturing Technology

Turbomachinery Technical Conference and Exposition in Norway on June 12-14

Lübeck, June 11, 2018. TURBO Expo, the leading trade fair for turbomachinery professionals, will take place for the first time in Lillestrøm (Oslo) from June 12 to 14. The SLM Solutions Group AG from Lübeck will present the entire portfolio of metal-based additive manufacturing technology at booth 215.

The three-day fair is a must-attend event for leading professionals and decision-makers in the industry, whose innovations and know-how are contributing to shaping the future of the turbomachinery industry. TURBO EXPO has already been providing unique networking opportunities for trade fair visitors from the fields of aeronautics, space, mechanical engineering and energy economy since 1954. The focus is on MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) this year with the latest trends in the fields of digitalization and additive manufacturing.

Norwegian, Scandinavian and globally operating companies can obtain information at trade fair booth 215 from SLM Solutions in Lillestrøm about the performance capability of metal-based additive manufacturing technology. The experts for 3D printing will present the complete process chain (closed loop) of generative manufacturing from data generation and melting to powder recovery and reprocessing.

With a good mixture of knowledge transfer and networking, SLM Solutions wants to raise awareness further for the topic of additive manufacturing in Norway. Central to the participation of SLM Solutions is the presentation of SLM® technology, processes, machines and materials. "We show in many practical examples how components made of metal powder can be melted layer by layer in the selective laser melting procedure to become stable, geometrically complex structures as well as how components can be optimized and complete components produced. In addition, we are presenting the integration of SLM® manufacturing technology in lean, competitive production processes. This results in a simplified manufacturing process, lower costs per part and shorter lead times. These are requirements, which are also increasingly cited in the optimization of turbomachinery," Stefan Ritt explained, Vice President and Head of Global Marketing & Communications at SLM Solutions Group AG.
