SLM Solutions presents sophisticated solutions for additive manufacturing at Paris Air Show 2015
Luebeck, June 10, 2015. From June 15 to 21, SLM Solutions Group AG will be presenting its comprehensive portfolio for additive manufacturing based on selective laser melting at Paris Air Show. At the largest aerospace event in the world, the company located in Northern Germany shows the rover Asimov R3C for lunar exploration and the laser melting system SLM 280HL at the pavilion of BDLI (The German Aerospace Industries Association) in hall 2c, stand B357.
Since its launch in 1909, the International Paris Air Show has constantly grown, and remains the largest aerospace event in the world today. The Show provides all attending companies with the special opportunity to meet with all key players in the aerospace industry, seize fresh commercial opportunities, present their expertise and innovations to the world, and form technological and industrial partnerships.
SLM Solutions and their French partner Multistation present the compact additive laser melting machine SLM 280HL at the pavilion of BDLI in Hall 2c, booth B357 in Le Bourget. The system covers the entire process of selective laser melting. The system produces high-quality metal components on the basis of three-dimensional CAD data. The SLM 280HL is intended to be a "universal system", which can be used in the field of R&D and also in the field of manufacturing complex components. The open control concept enables the user to customize and supply individual construction processes Through a variety of options and expandability, the system adapts to the different requirements.
In addition, SLM Solutions provides an insight into the project Google Lunar XPRIZE for lunar exploration. The team Part-Time Scientists GmbH is the first German and only privately funded company that has set itself the goal to perform the Google Lunar XPRIZE moon mission until the end of 2015. SLM Solutions supports this project. Parts of this test vehicle (wheels & camera adapter) were produced on SLM-equipment.
SLM Solutions works closely in research and development, along with renowned universities and institutes. Dr. Markus Rechlin, CEO of SLM Solutions Group AG, sees the efforts of SLM Solutions confirmed: "Many years we did pioneer work as technology leader in additive manufacturing and invested in research and development of equipment and materials. Together with partners like EADS Innovation Works, we will optimize plants and continue to create new materials to withstand even higher demands. Our systems give companies the chance to optimize their production in a more efficient and independent way“.
