Nikon SLM Solutions Celebrates the Landmark 900TH Delivery with an NXG XII 600 to Safran

Lübeck, Germany, Tuesday the 5th of December –  Nikon SLM Solutions marked a significant milestone celebrating the delivery of the first NXG XII 600 system to Safran. The state-of-the-art system will be stationed at Safran Additive Manufacturing Campus (SAMC) and will be essential to the serial production of qualified parts tailored for current and future aircraft engine programs.

A primary driving force behind this strategic investment is a uniquely designed, complex aluminum part conceptualized to integrate next generation aircraft engine demonstrator. The chosen material, AlSi7Mg0.6 – F357, underscores the commitment of both organizations to prioritize quality and precision.

In a joint endeavor, Safran and Nikon SLM Solutions have crafted a meticulous protocol ensuring the NXG XII 600 not only meets but consistently upholds Safran's rigorous specifications. This collaborative effort holds the potential to establish new benchmarks for the aerospace industry.

Furthermore, the machine's parameters for Aluminum AlSi7Mg0.6 have been developed by Nikon SLM Solutions in alignment with Safran's exacting standards for serial production qualified parts.

A comprehensive Service Level Agreement accompanying the NXG XII 600 enhances the delivery's value. This pact encompasses full coverage and a commitment to maximize uptime, ensuring Safran can capitalize on consistent, efficient production.

François-Xavier Foubert, General Manager of Safran Additive Manufacturing Campus, commented, "This first NXG XII 600 is a pivotal asset in Safran's pursuit towards decarbonated aviation, underlining our ambition to contribute to reach carbon neutrality by 2035."

Sam O’Leary, CEO of Nikon SLM Solutions, reflected on this partnership, stating, "This delivery marks not just a transaction, but a testament to our shared vision for the future of additive manufacturing. With the NXG XII 600, we're enabling Safran to harness record production capabilities, paving the way for innovative advancements in aviation."

This NXG XII 600 machine represents the 900th machine from Nikon SLM Solutions, emphasizing the company's extensive experience and sustained commitment to excellence in the field.
