SLM Solutions Presents Selective Laser Melting Solutions for the Dental Industry at IDS in Cologne

Lübeck, February 28, 2019: SLM Solutions, an integrated additive manufacturing equipment partner, presents the latest selective laser melting solutions for the dental industry at the IDS exhibition in Cologne, Germany. The IDS will take place on March 12-16 and is one of the world’s largest dental exhibitions and a platform for innovations and market trends. At Hall 3.1 Stand M009 SLM Solutions will showcase their entire product portfolio with concrete application examples.

At SLM Solution’s booth, visitors will learn how SLM® technology - Made in Germany - can be used successfully in series production with qualified application examples on display.

The Selective Laser Melting machine SLM®125 is perfectly suited for the requirements in the dental industry. The flexible machine is characterized by high productivity and robustness. Providing a build envelope of 125 x 125 x 125 mm, the machine allows, for example, the simultaneous production of up to ten removable partial denture frames for both upper and lower partials. By using the SLM® technology the production of the partials can be realized with high dimensional accuracy and at low manufacturing costs compared to conventional casting technology. With two production runs per day, up to 20 partials can be produced. It is also possible to print up to 120 crowns and bridges on one build plate. With two production runs per day, up to 240 crowns and bridges can be fabricated. SLM Solutions offers metal powders tailored to the dental industry, such as nickel-free cobalt-chrome and titanium alloys.
