SLM Solutions reports consolidated revenue growth in 2014 – optimism thanks to strong new order intake

Luebeck, Germany, March 11, 2015 – SLM Solutions Group AG, a leading provider of metal- based additive manufacturing technology (often referred to as "3D printing technology"), succeeded in boosting consolidated revenue by 56 % to EUR 33.6 million in the 2014 fiscal year, on the basis of preliminary IFRS results (previous year: EUR 21.6 million). A number of machines were not shipped until after the reporting date and have not been recognised in sales revenue. With 138 % growth, new order intake in the 2014 fiscal year significantly exceeded the company's expectations. This trend is continuing during the 2015 fiscal year. A total of 12 machines ordered as of March 9, 2015 already reflects 100 % year-on-year growth (previous year: 6 machines). The product mix is also developing favourably.

SLM Solutions CEO Dr. Markus Rechlin expresses his satisfaction with the success achieved in 2014: "Our first year on the stock market also proved extremely successful in terms of our operations. We registered significant sales revenue growth in the sale of laser melting systems, with the final quarter making a significant contribution to this success, as expected. We aim to play a globally leading role in the metal-based 3D printing area within the foreseeable future. The funds that we raised in last year's IPO are helping us to realise this vision. Our internationalisation is also advancing further."

A total of 8 machines of the SLM 125HL type were ordered during 2014 (previous year: 3), 43 machines of the SLM 280HL type (previous year: 17), and 11 of the largest machine, the SLM 500HL (previous year: 4). Industrial customers are increasingly transitioning to ordering several machines at once. Business with existing customers was expanded further. Multi- laser machines' share of total order intake also advanced considerably compared with 2013. As of March 9, 2015, orders for a total of 12 machines have already been received in 2015 (previous year: 6), including 4 units of the flagship SLM 500HL product (previous year: 0), 6 units of the SLM 280HL machine (previous year: 4), and 2 units of the SLM 125HL (previous year: 2).

CFO Uwe Bögershausen provides a first outlook for the 2015 fiscal year: "In 2014, we met, and even exceeded, the expectations that we formulated at the time of our IPO. We are entering the new fiscal year for the first time with a notable order book position and a product mix that is very beneficial for us, and we are optimally equipped for further growth. We take an optimistic view of the coming year: we anticipate new order intake of more than 100 machines over the course of the full year, and once again a significant increase in consolidated revenue to between EUR 55 million and EUR 60 million."

The company's annual report with final figures will be published on April 21, 2015, and will be available in English and German from the company's website at www.slm-solutions.com within the "Investor Relations" area.
